Annual COF Scholar Showcase

Overview

The Annual Choose Ohio First (COF) Showcase event is organized by the Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC) which is one of the premier P-20 state educational technology conferences in the country. This event provides COF scholars networking opportunities with state legislators as well as other COF scholars around the state. In addition, the conference celebrates the COF scholarship initiative and the students who have received the scholarship from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) for their studies in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) fields.

This showcase is the platform for scholars, faculty, and staff to interact with professionals within informational technology, mathematical sciences, and healthcare fields. COF scholars will be part of panel sessions such as discussions about how to best prepare and secure careers within STEMM fields. In this event, COF scholars from across the state of Ohio present their research and experiential learning opportunities supported by COF.

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) celebrated the 2022 Choose Ohio First Scholar (COF) Showcase. This event took place virtually on February 16th, 2022. The annual Showcase provided an opportunity for institutions and scholars to highlight and demonstrate research, projects, and innovation in STEMM disciplines and STEMM education driven by COF scholarships.

The Ohio State University had two COF ESI-Science scholars representing the institution in a poster presentation session. Their names are Jocelyn Hsu and Cole Simons.
