Overview
The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) hosts the Annual Choose Ohio First (COF) Showcase at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. The Showcase is an annual event that honors the COF scholarship program and COF scholars who are engaged in pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) related fields of study.
The Showcase event allows scholars the opportunity to network with members of the General Assembly, state officials, business leaders, and other COF scholars from around the state. Scholars present their work-based learning experiences and describe the impact of the COF program on their educational and career goals. This event is one of the most highly recognized networking events for students, faculty, and staff to build relationships with information technology, mathematical sciences, and healthcare industry professionals.

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) celebrated the 2022 Choose Ohio First Scholar (COF) Showcase. This event took place virtually on February 16th, 2022. The annual Showcase provided an opportunity for institutions and scholars to highlight and demonstrate research, projects, and innovation in STEMM disciplines and STEMM education driven by COF scholarships.
The Ohio State University had two COF ESI-Science scholars representing the institution in a poster presentation session. Their names are Jocelyn Hsu and Cole Simons. Jocelyn presented her research work Imaging of Pancreatic Tumors in 3D to Study Venous Invasion and Cole presented his research work Influence of Trees on Forest Soil Carbon.
