The Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship Student Council (council) has officially formed! Their mission is to support and advocate for COF scholars at Ohio State. The council is dedicated to fostering a community and promoting professional growth among its members. The council membership consists of three groups: active members (COF scholarship recipients), non-active members (students who do not receive the scholarship), and club advisors (faculty members). The active members have the right to select their board of directions and access to all council resources. The non-active members can participate in events but are not eligible to select the board of directors or run for office.

The council leadership consists of a president (Abshir Ali, EFC), vice president (Miguel Abeldano, EFC), treasurer (Lucas Kelly, IBEO-Engineering), and secretary (Karierah Humphrey, IBEO-Transfer). They will serve for one year and are responsible for the organization of meetings, event planning, and smooth operation of student groups. The establishment of the council marks an important step in creating a supportive network for COF scholars at Ohio State. The goal of this initiative is to empower its members and ensure their voices are heard within the broader university community and make a meaningful impact on the lives of COF scholars.
