CIR Chat Session #2 Highlights: Bashir, Nabeu, and Corajayne
The CIR Chat Session #2 brought together three presenters: Bashir Ali (EFC), Nabeu Habetaslassa (EFC), and Corajayne DeBoer (IBEO Science) for an engaging discussion in Smith Lab 1009. Choose Ohio First (COF) scholars heard firsthand how each presenter is shaping their academic and professional paths through research, internships, and hands-on learning. Bashir Ali shared insights from his product engineering internship at John Deere. Nabeu Habetaslassa discussed his software engineering internship at WillowTree. Corajayne DeBoer highlighted her research in The Ou Lab where she studies transposable elements in Poa annua (bluegrass) plants from different climates.
All of our presenters offered their peer COF scholars a meaningful look into pathways across software engineering, biotechnology, and research. Their stories emphasized curiosity, mentorship, and the importance of exploring opportunities that align with personal interests and career aspirations. The COF program thanks Bashir, Nabeu, and Corajayne for sharing their impactful experiences and contributing to another successful session.
