Emily Yu is a senior Choose Ohio First (COF) Engineering and Science Innovators (ESI- Engineering) scholar majoring in Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University. This past summer, she was a research intern at the National Institute of Technology (NIH) as a part of the Biomedical Engineering Summer Internship Program. Her research focused on characterizing speckle plethysmography (SPG), a non-invasive optical technique that measures blood flow. SPG is a relatively new technique, so its waveforms and metrics are poorly understood concerning a patient's physiological state. Emily ran a pilot study to examine and analyze the waveforms and total harmonic distortion from participants at rest.
Emily Yu will present her research experience in the CIR chat session on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5:30pm-7:00pm in Smith Lab Room 1009 (SM1009).
