Bradley Samberg is a senior Choose Ohio First Engineering and Science Innovators (ESI-Engineering) in Materials Science and Engineering major at The Ohio State University (OSU). He was a Materials Science Co-op at the Parker Hannifin Corporation in the tube fittings division in 2022. He worked within the Research and Development (R&D) department at Parker and worked in a very lab intensive environment. He got involved with materials science early on at OSU and never looked back. He obtained the aforementioned internship through the OSU engineering expo and thoroughly enjoyed his experience.
Bradley has been on the Dean's list each semester at OSU and is a recipient of the Glunz, Glick, Boyd, and Maximus scholarships in addition to being a COF scholar. Within COF he is mostly involved with peer tutoring, which is his favorite part of being a COF scholar. Bradley will present his co-op experience at CIR chat session at The Ohio State University on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 5:30PM - 6:30PM in Smith Lab Room 1153 (SM1153).
Choose Ohio First has impacted my academic career in so many meaningful ways; from being able to focus on my studies better by not having to worry as much about tuition costs to the interactions I have had with other members. I would say what has impacted me the most during my time with COF has been when I was a peer tutor. I feel like I learned about myself and the learning process a lot, while being able to help other students. This allowed me to learn my own subject matter in a more efficient matter as I got to see what worked during tutoring sessions and try out different strategies. I would not have had the opportunity to have an experience like this without the COF scholarship program.
